World War 2 is known as one of the most brutal conflicts in recent history, the Second World War wreaked heavy for six years, involving 113 countries from six continents. Starting in 1939, the Allied forces – mainly Britain, Russia, and the USA – tried to stop Nazi Germany from its conquest of European domination. By 1945, Western Europe had been rampaged, an entire race of people had come close to eradication, and the dynamic of power in many participating countries was to change forever.

The Treaty of Versailles, signed at the end of WW1, placed some very harsh restrictions on Germany, which created a feeling of resentment among the Germans. Due to the financial depression of the 1920’s, Germany simply did not have the funds to pay the reparation fees demanded by the treaty. |
Hitler's invasion of Poland on 1st September 1939 marked the beginning of WW2 in Europe. January 1940 saw the start of rationing in Britain. The Warsaw Ghetto uprising was a violent revolt that occurred from April 19 to May 16, 1943, during World War II. Residents of the Jewish ghetto in Nazi-occupied Warsaw, Poland, staged an armed revolt to prevent deportations to Nazi-run extermination camps.

The Allies invade Sicily in southern Italy Britain and the United States launched air attacks in southern Italy, Sicily, and Sardinia, targeting airfields, port facilities, and industrial sites.
